Photoshoot Pictures

After deciding on my artists appearance and overall style, i finally got onto taking the pictures needed for my magazine. After a long photoshoot session with my artist and make up person whom i used (all were my friends) i finally got the few pictures i was happy with.

Research - Audiences and my target audience

I did some research on audiences and decided to do a questionnaire. I gave out my music questionnaire in the college canteen to ten people and awaited for the results. The questionnaire i conducted looked like this.

My target audience is =

Male
15-25 years old
Interested in Hip Hop genre and RnB
All races but usually has a black audience
All classes but mainly working and middle class

Research - Artist Appearance/Look

I did some research on the internet on clothing and what type of style im going to give my artist and what 'look' im going to go for. As my genre is R'n'B and Pop i looked at clothes that artist such as Katy Perry, Rihanna, Cassie, Beyonce, and looked at clothes that other artists may wear that could fit into the R'n'B/Pop genre such as The Saturdays, Cheryl Cole, Lady Gaga etc.

After looking through the internet and magazines i decided that these items or items similar to these would best fit my artist to give her the look needed.

Research - Music Videos

As part of my research I decided to have a look at some music videos that fit the style and genre of my music magazine. By looking at different music videos it will give me an idea of what my artist should be like in order to fit my genre/style, and will also help to to deicde on the overall look/appearance of my artist and also what props i may need if any.

Firstly, i decided to have a look at Cassie's music video "Long Way To Go" as i had already decided that my artist for my magazine is going to be female, and thought that Cassie's overall look in this video would fit well.

I also decided to take a look at Rihanna's music video "Umbrella" featuring Jay Z, as the props in this video had given me some idea's, such as the use of the umbrella. Also the way her make up is done in this video I thought would fit perfectly on my artist.
